Radiofrequency neurotomy is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that is performed in an outpatient setting. Radiofrequency neurotomy is effective in treating the following conditions:
-
Back pain
-
Neck pain
-
Hip pain
-
Knee pain
Radiofrequency neurotomy uses heat generated by radio waves to target specific nerves and temporarily disrupt their ability to transmit pain signals, providing rapid pain relief. During the procedure, a physician uses X-ray guidance to carefully guide a small needle to the affected area. The needle is then inserted and radio waves delivered to the targeted nerves. After a brief rest period, the patient is allowed to go home.
